Date Nut Bread

Preheat: 325°
double recipe makes 5 pans

Ingredients
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg + 1 cup sugar

11/2 Cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
sift above 2 ingredients together

1 tsp vanilla
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup cut up dates
1/2 cup raisins

1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions
Pour boiling water over dates and raisins and cool.
Mix butter, sugar, add egg and beat until creamy

Add dry ingredients alternately with moist mixture
then add vanilla
Add nuts last

Bake 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
